The Department of Medical Neuroscience (formerly the Department of Anatomy & Neurobiology) is dedicated to research and training in cellular and molecular neuroscience and the application of such core knowledge to diseases and disorders of the nervous system. The Department is housed within the Sir Charles Tupper Medical Building and the Life Science Research Institute. Members of the Department provide graduate training leading to both MSc and PhD degrees. Currently, members of the Department conduct research in a variety of areas including, but not limited to, motor control, neural development, retina, sleep, autonomic control of circulation, heat shock proteins, and Alzheimer’s disease.
