The Department of Medical Neuroscience
provides facilities for advanced study and research in Neuroscience,
Histology, Embryology, Cell Biology, and Evolutionary Biology.
The department has well equipped research laboratories, small-animal
operating rooms, a tissue culture facility, aquarium rooms,
walk-in cold rooms, dark rooms and a modern digital imaging
suite. Faculty members have the equipment necessary to conduct
research in various disciplines. In addition, two faculty
members are located in the Vision 2000 Laboratory of Molecular
Biology that often serves as a resource for individual training
and research facility in molecular biology and tissue culture
techniques. The Department maintains close relationships
with other departments in thebuilding, Physiology and Biophysics,
Biochemistry, Pharmacology and Microbiology and Immunology,
Pathology, as well as with others on the campus, notably
Biology and Psychology. The Kellogg Health Sciences Library
is located in the Sir Charles Tupper Building and the McDonald
Science and Killam libraries are on the upper campus. All
libraries carry extensive journal collections. Laboratories
have access to Medline and the Internet and students have
personal e-mail addresses. The administrative office of the
Department is located on the 13th Floor of the Sir Charles
Tupper Medical Building . |
